When is it safe to start pilates after giving birth?
Once you have had your 6-week postnatal ( Woman who had c-section or natural delivery) check up with your GP and you haven’t been advised otherwise, you can start slowly back into physical activity. Pilates is highly recommended during the first four months post birth when your body is most vulnerable to injury due to muscle weakness.
I’ve never done Pilates before…
No problem. No previous experience in Pilates is required. We will provide you with useful handouts to take home and all equipment is provided.
I had my baby/babies over a year ago. Do I have to be a ‘new’ mum to do this program?
You don’t need to be a new mum to join our program. Women that are willing to benefit from a core and pelvic floor strengthening program in a gradual and progressive way are very welcome to join.
What are the class times?
Postnatal program sessions are 11.30am to 12:30 pm on Monday’s and Wednesday’s.
Choose which day suits you and we will let you know when we have availability for you to start.
How many students are in each session?
A maximum of five students to ensure everyone gets the highest quality session possible. Private sessions are also available. Please contact us for further details of this option.
Can I bring my baby to class with me?
Our studio is baby friendly. Your little ones are welcome to come along with you, but for safety reasons, they must be at the pre-crawling stage. Babies won’t be actively involved in the exercises. There is space to bring your pram into the studio if they want to nap during your session. We also have a change mat and wipes.
Is there parking at the studio?
There is ample parking on the streets surrounding the studio, most of it is one hour. And also there is a 3-hour free council car park on the back street of the studio- at Mooramba Road Dee Why.
We look forward to meeting you (and your baby if they want to join us!)
